ProApp.Net Mail Configuration FAQ

In light of recent events, we have taken action to reduce SPAM relay mail through our servers, and (unfortunately) this means a change in your email client software setup. Below are the steps required to enable this change to allow you to send mail again.

Outlook 98, 2000, 2002

  1. From the Tools menu, choose "Accounts."
  2. Select the "Mail" tab.
  3. Select your mail account and click "Properties."
  4. Click on the "Servers" tab.
  5. Check the box next to "My Server Requires Authentication."
  6. Click "OK."

Outlook Express (IE 5)

  1. From the Tools menu, choose "Accounts."
  2. Select the "Mail" tab.
  3. Double-click your mail server
  4. Select the "Servers" tab.
  5. Check the box next to "My Server Requires Authentication."
  6. Click "OK."

Eudora 5.1 or Higher

Versions 5.1 and higher of Eudora Pro allow you to set up multiple email accounts, so you don't have to replace your current POP and SMTP settings in order to send and receive new Yahoo! Mail messages.

  1. Click on the "Tools" menu and select "Personalities."
  2. Right-click in the "Personalities" box (on the left of the screen) and select "New."
  3. The New Account Wizard will take you through the set up.
  4. Use the following settings:
  5. Personality Name: ProApp Mail
  6. Account Settings: Select "Create a new account."
  7. Personal Information: Enter your name.
  8. Email Address: Enter your Email address (e.g., user@proapp.net).
  9. Login Name: Enter your Email address (e.g., user@proapp.net).
  10. Incoming Email Server: Type "mail.proapp.net" and make sure that "POP" is selected at the bottom.
  11. Outgoing Email Server: Type "mail.proapp.net."
  12. Check the box next to "Allow authentication."
  13. Click the "Finish" button when you are done.
Other Email Clients

In order to use an email client to send and receive Yahoo! Mail messages, you must designate a new incoming (POP) mail server and a new outgoing (SMTP) mail server. If you can't add new POP or SMTP servers, you'll need to change your current server settings. Write down your current settings first -- you may need to revert to your original settings later if you decide to send and receive messages from your other email addresses. Here are the basic server settings for Yahoo! Mail:

  1. Incoming Mail (POP3) Server: mail.proapp.net
  2. Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server: mail.proapp.net (use authentication)
  3. Account Name/Login Name: your email address (e.g., user@proapp.net)
  4. Email Address: your email address (e.g., user@proapp.net)
  5. Password: your email password
Please note that if your client does not support SMTP authentication, you will not be able to use it to send mail through ProApp.Net.
